The 2026 Local SEO Playbook for Kitchen & Bath Dealers
Google Business, map pack rankings, and the review cadence that keeps you on page one without an agency retainer.

For a kitchen and bath dealer, local SEO mostly comes down to showing up in the map results when someone nearby searches for cabinets, then giving them a reason to call once they see you. This playbook covers what Google says it looks at, what local search experts rank highest for 2026, and a monthly routine you can run without an agency retainer.
Google's help centre says local results are "mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity." Relevance is "how well a Business Profile matches what someone is searching for." Distance is "how far each business is from the customer who's searching." Popularity, which the page also calls prominence, "means how well-known a business is," and Google says it draws on things like how many websites link to your business and how many reviews you have.
Two more lines from that page are worth remembering: "More reviews and positive ratings can help your business's local ranking," and "There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google." Ads are a separate placement. They don't change where your profile ranks.
Google doesn't publish its weighting, so the industry relies on surveys. Whitespark's 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors report asked 47 local search experts to score 187 factors. Their top ten for the map results:
Two caveats. First, these rankings come from expert opinion, and Google hasn't confirmed them. Whitespark notes that none of the experts have special access to Google's algorithm. Second, number three breaks Google's guidelines unless those keywords are part of your real business name. Google says adding them "could result in the suspension of your Business Profile," so skip it.
Whitespark says the biggest change for 2026 is "an increased importance of review signals and behavioural signals." Several of the top factors also favour dealers with a real showroom: a physical address in the city, an address shown on the profile, and an accurate map pin.
Google says customers are 2.7 times more likely to consider a business reputable when its profile is complete. It's the cheapest fix on this list.
Quick Check
One dealer per metro area. No commitment to check.
Reviews are where most of the ongoing work sits, and where buyers look hardest. BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 of 1,002 US consumers found:
A kitchen dealer doesn't finish dozens of jobs a week, so every completed project counts. A simple cadence:
Stay inside Google's review policy. You can ask customers to share their genuine experience. You can't offer discounts, gifts or payment for reviews, and you can't "selectively solicit positive reviews from customers." Ask everyone.
Your profile links to your website, and Google's popularity factor looks at how many websites link to you. Three things help:
